Election prediction

Here is my prediction for the seat distribution after today's federal election:

Conservatives - 127 (+28) [Actual result: 124]
Liberals - 101 (-34) [Actual result: 103]
Bloc Québécois - 49 (-5) [Actual result: 51]
NDP - 28 (+9) [Actual result: 29]
Green - 1 (+1) [Actual result: 0]
Independent - 2 (+1) [Actual result: 1]

Woe is me.

I haven't asked my mom what she thought of the upcoming elections. Knowing her I'm pretty sure she would be for the conservatives 100%.

It should be an interesting day.

(P.S. Sorry about the Blackberry ruling, that's going to piss a lot of people off.)

A lot of people are going to be voting Conservative in order to "punish" the Liberals.

What I don't understand is why those people aren't voting for a party that at least vaguely shares some ideological beliefs with the Liberal party.

When you compare party platforms in the areas of social policies (health care, immigration, taxation, gun control, environment, military), the Liberals have a lot more in common with the NDP and the Green party than they do with the Conservatives. Why not vote for one of those other parties instead?

Pardon my ridiculous analogy, but voting for the Conservatives instead of the Liberals is like shaving your head because you're having a bad hair day. The cure is worse than the cold!

It's okay. Life as you know it will not end. It'll just give you lots and lots of blog fodder. ;-)

A lot of people thought the U.S. was going to implode when G.W. was elected....

Oh no wait, thats not a good analogy either.......

Let me think on this one.
what was the blackberry ruling? does it have to do with mobile email?

I concede that despite the election outcome, the earth will probably not crash into the sun this year.
