Election prediction
Here is my prediction for the seat distribution after today's federal election:
Conservatives - 127 (+28) [Actual result: 124]
Liberals - 101 (-34) [Actual result: 103]
Bloc Québécois - 49 (-5) [Actual result: 51]
NDP - 28 (+9) [Actual result: 29]
Green - 1 (+1) [Actual result: 0]
Independent - 2 (+1) [Actual result: 1]
Woe is me.

What I don't understand is why those people aren't voting for a party that at least vaguely shares some ideological beliefs with the Liberal party.
When you compare party platforms in the areas of social policies (health care, immigration, taxation, gun control, environment, military), the Liberals have a lot more in common with the NDP and the Green party than they do with the Conservatives. Why not vote for one of those other parties instead?
Pardon my ridiculous analogy, but voting for the Conservatives instead of the Liberals is like shaving your head because you're having a bad hair day. The cure is worse than the cold!
A lot of people thought the U.S. was going to implode when G.W. was elected....
Oh no wait, thats not a good analogy either.......
