A tale of two leaders

John Profuma, 91, died late Thursday. The former British secretary of war's political career came to an abrupt end in 1963 after a sex scandal involving a prostitute and allegations of espionage.

He spent the rest of his life working on charitable projects in London's east end.

Despite his sordid past, Profumo will forever be remembered as a man who ultimately redeemed himself, and dedicated his life to serving the public good.

Slobodan Milosevic, 65, was found dead early Saturday in his prison cell in The Hague, where he was facing trial on 66 charges including genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes, relating to the 1990s "ethnic cleansing" and massacres in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Croatia. The former Yugoslav president's political career came to an abrupt end in 2000 when he was toppled in a popular uprising.

He spent the rest of his life denying any wrongdoing.

Because of his sordid past, Milosevic will forever be remembered as an asshole.
